Facts checked for the 2026–2027 season against the operators' own pages (Santa Claus Village, Snowman World, SantaPark, VR, Finavia). Hours and prices change by season: the booking page has the final word.
Santa Claus Village sits on the E75 (Finnish national road 4) eight kilometres north of Rovaniemi city centre and three kilometres south of Rovaniemi Airport, so every arrival ends with a short hop. The address for navigation is Tähtikuja 1, 96930 Rovaniemi (GPS 66°32′37″ N, 25°50′51″ E); the big gateway with the towers across the road is unmistakable. Here are the options from the airport, the station and the city, with winter timetables and the night train from Helsinki.

In Christmas week more than a hundred flights a day land on a single runway, so build in a buffer on the way back.

By train: the Santa Claus Express
The Santa Claus Express is the VR night train between Helsinki and Rovaniemi: it leaves Helsinki in the evening, crosses the Arctic Circle a few kilometres before Rovaniemi and arrives in the morning after roughly twelve hours. Sleeping cabins have two berths, some with a private shower; cars can travel on the same train. The cheapest berths are released months in advance and the Christmas departures sell out early. Day trains with seats also run from Helsinki, Tampere and Oulu. Tickets are sold by VR online; from the station, bus 8 or a taxi takes you to the village.
By bus and by car from the rest of Finland
Long-distance coaches (Matkahuolto, Onnibus) reach Rovaniemi from Helsinki, Oulu and the north; FlixBus runs a Kraków – Rovaniemi line via Vilnius, Riga, Tallinn and Helsinki. By car Rovaniemi is about 830 km from Helsinki on road 4/E75, eight to nine hours in summer and longer in winter; the village is on the same road, north of the city, with the Arctic Circle sign on the carriageway. Winter tyres are compulsory and reindeer walk on the roads at dusk: slow down when you see one, there are always more.

Moving around inside the village
The village is compact: Santa Claus Office, the post office, the line, the shops and the restaurants are within 300 metres of each other on packed snow paths. Snowman World is a three-minute walk behind the square, the reindeer and husky yards five minutes along Joulumaantie, the glass igloos and the Holiday Village cottages ten minutes. SantaPark is the exception: two kilometres towards the airport, reached by the Santa's Express bus, taxi or a 25-minute walk on the roadside path.
